Natural History of Thásos
An introduction to the wildlife and wild places of Thásos, Greece.
© Adrian P. Fowles 2001
Thásos (also known as Thasos or Thassos) is a small island, the northernmost in the Aegean, just a few kilometres off the coast of mainland Greece (24.30'E; 40.40'N). Information on the natural history of Thásos is scattered through a variety of publications and this site is intended to be a reference point to encourage interest in the island’s wildlife. Comments, biological records and information on sites and habitats are welcome.
